What makes a kitchen cabinet feel solid?

Why do 18mm backs matter in kitchen units?
Full-height 18mm backs add strength and stability to base and wall units. They help the cabinet hold its shape better than thinner or loose backs, especially once the kitchen is fitted and in regular use.
What is cam and dowel construction?
Cam and dowel construction is a cabinet assembly method that creates a strong, clean connection between panels. It also avoids visible screw holes, helping the inside of the cabinet look neater and more finished.
Why is PVC edging used on exposed cabinet sides?
PVC edging helps protect exposed cabinet edges from everyday knocks, moisture and wear. It also gives the cabinet a cleaner finish, especially on visible sides where the detail matters once the kitchen or bedroom is installed.
Are rigid-built cabinets better than flat-pack cabinets?
Rigid-built cabinets arrive fully assembled, which gives the installer a stronger and more accurate starting point. This can help with alignment, fitting and the final finish. The Kitchen Works states that all cabinets are fully assembled and wrapped before leaving the factory.
What drawer and hinge options are available?
The standard drawer system is built for regular daily use, with options available for anti-slam drawer and door systems. Higher-spec drawer options, including Blum Antaro and Hettich anti-slam systems, can also be specified where suitable.
