Website content
We do our best to keep the information on this website accurate, useful and up to date.
The content on this website is provided for general information only. It should not be treated as a final specification, quotation, contract, guarantee or design agreement.
Images, colours, finishes, layouts and project examples shown on the website are for guidance and inspiration. Actual materials, finishes and colours may vary depending on screen settings, lighting, availability, supplier changes, manufacturing tolerances and your chosen specification.
Any examples of past projects are intended to show the type and quality of work that may be available. Every home, room size, layout, material choice and installation requirement is different.
Appointments and enquiries
When you submit an enquiry or request an appointment, you agree that the information you provide is accurate and complete.
Submitting an enquiry through this website does not create a contract between you and Modern Kitchens Ltd.
A contract will only be formed when the agreed project details, scope of work, specification, price, payment terms and any other relevant documents have been confirmed and accepted by both parties.
We reserve the right to decline an enquiry or project request at our discretion.
Design consultations
A design consultation may include discussion of your ideas, layout preferences, measurements, materials, finishes, budget, timescales and installation requirements.
Any advice given during an initial conversation is based on the information available at that time. It may change once full measurements, site conditions, technical requirements and final product choices are reviewed.
Where a home visit, measure-up or design appointment is arranged, you are responsible for ensuring that we can access the property safely and at the agreed time.
Quotations and estimates
Any quotation or estimate we provide will be based on the information available at the time it is prepared.
Unless stated otherwise in writing, quotations may be subject to change if:
- Measurements or site conditions differ from the information originally provided
- You change the design, layout, materials, appliances, fittings or specification
- Additional preparation, building, plumbing, electrical or installation work is required
- Supplier prices, product availability or delivery costs change
- Hidden issues are discovered after work begins
- You ask for extra work or changes after the quotation has been accepted
A quotation is not binding until it has been confirmed in writing and accepted by both parties.
Bespoke and made-to-measure products
Many of the products and services supplied by Modern Kitchens Ltd may be bespoke, made-to-measure or ordered specifically for your project.
This may include fitted kitchen units, bedroom furniture, wardrobes, panels, worktops, doors, trims, accessories and other items manufactured or ordered to your measurements, design choices or specification.
Because bespoke and made-to-measure items are specific to your project, cancellation rights may be limited once an order has been accepted, materials have been ordered, products have entered production or work has started.
Your statutory rights are not affected.
Payments
Payment terms will be confirmed in your quotation, order confirmation, invoice or project agreement.
Depending on the project, payment terms may include:
- A deposit or booking payment
- Stage payments
- Balance payment before delivery, installation or completion
- Payment for additional work or changes agreed during the project
All payments must be made by the due date stated on the relevant invoice or agreement.
We reserve the right to pause work, delay ordering, delay delivery or delay installation if payments are overdue.
Cancellations and changes
If you want to cancel or change a project after accepting a quotation or making payment, you must contact us as soon as possible in writing.
We will review the stage your project has reached and confirm what can reasonably be changed or cancelled.
You may be responsible for costs already incurred, including design time, administration, supplier charges, bespoke products, materials ordered, manufacturing costs, delivery charges, installation preparation and any other reasonable losses linked to the cancellation or change.
We will always aim to deal with cancellation or change requests fairly and clearly.
Delivery and installation timescales
We will give estimated timescales wherever possible.
Timescales may be affected by factors outside our control, including supplier availability, manufacturing lead times, transport delays, site access, property readiness, other trades, illness, severe weather or unexpected issues discovered during the project.
We will keep you informed if delays arise.
Unless a specific completion date has been agreed in writing as a condition of the contract, dates are estimates only.
Customer responsibilities
To help your project run properly, you agree to:
- Provide accurate information about your property and requirements
- Make us aware of anything that may affect design, access, installation or safety
- Allow agreed access to the property
- Ensure the work area is clear, safe and ready where required
- Confirm decisions, specifications and approvals promptly
- Arrange any third-party work you are responsible for
- Make payments on time
- Tell us quickly if you have any concerns
Where other tradespeople, contractors or suppliers are involved, Modern Kitchens Ltd is not responsible for their work unless we have agreed this in writing.
Installation and site conditions
Fitted kitchens and bedrooms rely on the condition of the property.
Walls, floors, ceilings, plumbing, electrics, ventilation, damp, structural issues and previous workmanship can all affect the final result.
If unexpected issues are found, we will explain the situation and advise on the next steps. Extra work may be needed and may lead to additional costs.
We are not responsible for pre-existing faults, hidden defects or issues caused by other contractors, previous installations, poor building work or property conditions outside our control.
Appliances, fittings and third-party products
Where appliances, handles, worktops, fixtures, fittings or other third-party products are supplied as part of a project, they may be covered by the manufacturer’s own warranty or guarantee.
We are not responsible for manufacturer delays, discontinued items, specification changes, product faults or warranty terms beyond our control.
If a product becomes unavailable, we will discuss a suitable alternative with you.
Guarantees and warranties
Any guarantees or warranties will be confirmed in writing where applicable.
Your statutory rights are not affected.
Guarantees and warranties may not cover damage caused by misuse, accidental damage, poor maintenance, normal wear and tear, unauthorised repairs, changes made by others, water damage, excessive moisture, movement in the property or failure to follow care guidance.
